This nature preserve was named Spirit Springs in part because the surface stream and groundwater seep on the site, but also because it’s a place that lends itself to peaceful reflection and the renewal of mind, body, and spirit.

Additional information about Autumn at Spirit Springs. This photograph was taken at Spirit Springs Sanctuary in Marcellus, Michigan. It’s a little off the beaten path, but well worth for the serenity and photography opportunities. The posted sign says:
- the trails are open during daylight hours
- no alcoholic beverages
- all pets must be on a leash and please clean up after your pets
- no horseback riding
- no motorized vehicles except for mobility devices described in the American Disabilities Act
- no camping or fires
- no littering and please help keep the area clean by removing any trash
- no destruction of plants or wildlife
- take only pictures and leave only footprints
